Funding
By using different sources of funding, CLC always tries to provide courses at the lowest price possible. If your course is being fully or partly paid for by someone else, we will tell you who they are and why they are doing it. Current funding is provided through:
- The Learning Skills Council (LSC), which funds our apprenticeships and Train to Gain through provider partnerships.
- European Social Fund (ESF) which funds specific training projects
- Employers or Learners may also choose to pay for courses
- Each funding stream has different paperwork requirements
Resources
CLC has well equipped training facilities in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight including conference rooms and individual teaching and learning rooms to provide short courses, one to one training and tests in a quiet environment.
We also provide handouts, books and use other teaching other resources, to ensure that Learners have information to refer to and to learn from.
Advice, Guidance and Support
We operate an open door policy and are happy to speak to clients at any time. In addition CLC issues a newsletter at least three times a year to bring you the latest Care Learning News.
Our website also contains general information on Care Learning Centre and is available in larger text and different colours.
Employers and partners are asked to provide feedback on our service annually and Learners are asked for feedback several times during their programme
Learning Support Advisor

Meet Mandy Venables, our Learning Support Advisor. Mandy's job is to provide information on issues that may be affecting a learner's programme, providing a link with other organisations so that we can fully meet clients needs. Mandy also brings together our clients views on the services we provide and helps us to respond to feedback from learners and employers. She is happy to talk to you at any time, so please do not hesitate to call her. |
Complaints and Compliments
We regularly issue questionnaires to learners and employers to gather feedback, but realise that there may be occasions when clients feel especially happy or unhappy with the service that they receive.
If you are able to, please raise it with the staff member concerned, they are always willing to clear up misunderstandings or receive praise. If this is not possible, contact Care Learning Centre and ask for Mandy, she will log your call and pass the matter to the staff member's line manager or the Human Resources Director or, if you feel that situation requires a more formal approach, please write to us with clear details on your complaint or compliment.
